What is the Safe and Healthy Homes Program?
RTTB's Safe and Healthy Homes™ Program provides families with free critical home repairs and education that reduces asthma and allergy symptoms in children. Asthma is one of our country’s most common and costly diseases. It is the leading chronic disease in children and the third leading cause of hospitalization among children under age 15. The most common asthma triggers are found within the home.

How Does it Work?
RTTB’s Safe and Healthy Homes™ program combats the high rates of asthma and allergies in children across Tampa Bay through a combination of evidence-based home repairs that consists of 16 key repairs specific to reducing asthma and allergy triggers in the home and Substantial Rehab that address the unique repair needs of each home and family. In addition to repairs, homeowners are equipped with supply kits and complete educational courses that jump-start each family's ability to independently maintain a healthy home.

Submit your Application
RTTB's Safe and Healthy Homes Program application can take up to 1 hour to complete. You will need to upload verification documents, and complete a guided self home assessment to complete your application. Click here or the button below to apply.
Intake and Inspection
Once you submit your application, RTTB's Intake Coordinator will reach out to complete a phone intake, and schedule a home visit where RTTB will preform a home assessment. You will be notified if you qualify for the program upon the completion of your home assesment.

RTTB's Safe and Healthy Homes program began in Hillsborough County in 2016 with the support of many government and local organizations like the Children's Board of Hillsborough County. Since the Safe and Healthy Homes began, the Children's has helped deliver repairs and supplies to over 100 families with children who suffer from asthma and allergies. In 2021, the Children's Board partnered with RTTB to distribute 3500 covid-19 supply kits throughout Tampa Bay.
